Three special categories of super prosecco

Exports of Prosecco, Italy's wine locomotive, are leading in major international markets and show no signs of slowing, even against the backdrop of pandemic and war. Prosecco sparkling wine sales have shown steady growth through 2022, including the legal Prosecco DOC and the premium legal Prosecco DOCG, Asolo Prosecco DOCG and Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG, Prosecco Superiore DOCG, also known as Prosecco Superiore DOCG, is produced in three regions that account for as much as 10 percent of Italy's DOP-rated wine sales.

A total of 750m bottles worth €3.5bn were sold, up 25.4 per cent on the previous year, with much of the increase attributed to the new Rose category. That compares with 627.5 million bottles of Prosecco a year (71.5 million of which are peach sparkling), 21 million bottles of Asoro-Prosecco and 100 million bottles of Super Prosecco 39bet-đua chó-game giải trí -đá gà-đá gà trực tuyến-đánh bài.

This article introduces the reader to one of these three Prosecco wines: Super Prosecco, which represents the top of the Prosecco wine quality pyramid and whose beautiful hilly vineyards within the region were recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019.

0c635cf3dbdaa312da53b2d1b0ded319Super Prosecco is located in a hilly region of North-East Italy called Conegliano Valdobbiadene, 50km from Venice and about 100km from the Dolomiti mountains. Grapes for super prosecco have been grown here for more than three centuries, and the wine's success began in 1876 with the opening of Italy's first winemaking school. Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC), which covers 15 municipalities and represents the center of the Prosecco region, was certified as a legal appraised area in 1969. With the reorganization of Prosecco in 2009, its Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG) designation by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture represents the highest quality rating for Italian wines.

Among the many Super Prosecco wines on the market today, we also find the following three different labels on the wine label, each representing the three different categories of Super Prosecco.

Rive: The word "Rive" in the local dialect refers to the steep hills characteristic of the region, and on the wine label refers to one of 43 officially recognized high-quality single vineyards. While wine grapes from Rive wines often originate from high-quality vineyards on steep hillsides with unique soils, orientations and microclimates, this type of super prosecco highlights the characteristics given to the wine by specific terroir conditions. In the "Rive" vineyards, the yield is reduced to 13 tonnes per hectare and is picked by hand, usually with the year of harvest on the wine label.

Cartizze: "Cartizze" is a sub-region within the Super Prosecco region, which has had a separate brewing code since 1969, with a maximum yield of 12 tons per hectare. The wines produced here are at the top of the quality pyramid in the region.

The vineyard covers just 107 hectares on the steepest slopes of San Pietro di Barbozza, Santo Stefano and Saccol in the Valdobbiadene region. Moraine soil, ancient composed of sandstone and clay soil, combined with a mild climate, giving the wine a unique flavor, sending out an apple, pear, citrus, peach and apricot aromas, as well as the light rose fragrance, the fruit taste is mellow and delicate bubbles, well balanced and elegant, very pure and fresh, also with a little taste of almond in the aftertaste.

Sui Lieviti (liquor sludge): "Lieviti" means yeast in Italian, which is the name of the traditional pure-leaved prosecco, a type of wine with a sediment in the bottle. Also known as "sur lie" or "Col fondo", this is the first version of the sparkling wine made in the Super Prosecco region. This secondary fermentation of puree in the bottle is similar to the increasingly popular traditional method of making sparkling wine.

Provo cyc wine, usually brewed in this kind of super natural extremely dry type (Brut Nature), is a lively, slightly turbid sparkling wine, bubble is very exquisite, compared to the classic super provo cyc sparkling wine. This wine has a less obvious apple flavor, but broader, more complex aroma, crisp bread of classical flavor from yeast.
